3Com®SuperStack®3 Baseline Switches
and Hubs
Key Benefits
These products
form the building
blocks to create
many different
Ethernet LAN
configurations to
suit various
applications
Wide-Ranging Unmanaged Family
Whether looking for a simple LAN
hub, building a switched LAN with or
without high speed uplinks, or looking
for a low cost, high performance
Gigabit network, small to mid-sized
businesses will find an affordable,
unmanaged, out-of-the-box solution –
the family of 3Com®SuperStack®3
Baseline switches and hubs.
High Performance, Rack-Mounted
SuperStack 3 Baseline switches and
hubs have the power to work in the
most demanding business networks,
and their standard 19-inch, one rack-
unit-high (1RU) form factor, consistent
across the family, makes them an ideal
fit for the tightest wiring closets.
Ultra Reliability
As with other 3Com products,
SuperStack 3 Baseline switches and
hubs feature sturdy design and con-
struction, which pays off in high
reliability and long service life.
Advanced Switching Features
The 3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline
switches also support Class-of-Service
traffic prioritization via the IEEE
802.1p standard, so they can fit easily
within larger, enterprise LANs, run-
ning real-time applications.
Plug-and-Play Operation
3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline switches
and hubs operate out of the box, with
no configuration required. Built-in
features simplify operation, such as
10/100 auto-sensing ports that adjust
to the speed of the connected PC or
device, and automatic MDI/MDIX
Ethernet cable detection on all ports
of all switches that automatically
adapts to the Ethernet cable type
used, simplifying installation.
Limited Lifetime Warranty
Ensures peace of mind when purchas-
ing SuperStack 3 Baseline products.
Enterprise divisions, branch offices,
and small businesses alike appreciate
the easy affordability and wide perfor-
mance range of SuperStack 3 Baseline
switches and hubs. Designed for
offices without stringent network
management needs, these products
form the building blocks to create
many different Ethernet LAN configu-
rations to suit various applications.
Businesses can start a network with
SuperStack 3 Baseline 10/100
switches. These permit mixing
Ethernet and Fast Ethernet devices in
the same LAN, giving users the appro-
priate bandwidth for their individual
applications. They come in a variety
of configurations, from
16-port Ethernet/Fast Ethernet units
to a 48-port switch, and they feature
uplink bandwidth as high as 2 Gbps
(via dual Gigabit uplink ports).
All SuperStack 3 Baseline products are
quick to install and simple to operate.
And once they get going, they tend
not to stop. SuperStack 3 switches
and hubs are consistently among the
industry's most reliable products.

3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline
Switches
3Com offers a wide range of unman-
aged switches to serve a variety of
applications.
3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline 10/100
Switches
For offices requiring Fast Ethernet
(100 Mbps) connections for desktops
and office servers, with the ability to
handle older desktops still running at
Ethernet (10 Mbps) speeds, the 3Com
SuperStack 3 Baseline 10/100 16-port
and 24-port switches are the ideal
solution. They come pre-configured
for fast, easy installation. They feature
full non-blocking performance, auto-
negotiation capability, IEEE 802.1p
traffic prioritization, and automatic
MDI/MDIX Ethernet cable detection
on all ports.
3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline 10/100
Switches (with Gigabit Uplinks)
For offices requiring Fast Ethernet
(100 Mbps) connections for desktops,
and ultra high-speed Gigabit connec-
tions to servers or high-speed network
backbones, the 3Com SuperStack 3
Baseline 10/100 switches with Gigabit
uplinks are the recommended solution.
One switch model delivers 48 10/100
ports, as well as two 10/100/1000
uplink ports. Also available is a
24 10/100-port switch with two
10/100/1000 uplink ports. Both feature
full non-blocking performance, auto-
negotiation capability, IEEE 802.1p
prioritization, and automatic
MDI/MDIX Ethernet cable detection
on all ports.
3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline 10/100/1000
Switch
The SuperStack 3 Baseline 10/100/1000
switch is ideal for users who want the
high-speed performance of
10/100/1000 switching but do not need
sophisticated management capabilities.
The SuperStack 3 Baseline 10/100/1000
switch is pre-configured and ready to
use straight from the box. It provides
eight RJ-45 10/100/1000 auto-sensing
ports and features full non-blocking
performance, IEEE 802.1p traffic pri-
oritization, auto-negotiation capability,
automatic MDI/MDIX Ethernet cable
detection on all ports and full-duplex/
half-duplex mode. Diagnostic LEDs
indicate network traffic and port status
of each port, making it easy to spot-
check faults and check individual port
status.
3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline
Dual Speed Hubs
With SuperStack 3 Baseline Dual Speed
Hubs, businesses can protect their net-
work investment while gradually
moving up to Fast Ethernet.
Available with 16 or 24 ports, these
products feature auto-negotiation capa-
bility, so they automatically adjust to
the speed of each communicating
device. They're pre-configured, for
out-of-the-box installation, and they
can be cascaded together to provide
additional capacity without uprooting
existing network equipment.
