Application not e:
1. Shell size 9, shell si ze code A (universal c onfiguration), is not recommended for blind mate
applications due t o t he possibility for misalignment between the DSR keyways and the plug key s.
Misalignment can potentially damage plug EMI bands.
Change effectivity. Unless otherwise specified by the preparing activity and/or the qualifying activity, all
changes from the prev i ous revision of this specification sheet shall become effective withi n 90 days of the
date of publicati on of the latest revision. If unable to implement changes within the 90 day t i me period,
the manufacturer or val ue added distributor shall notify the qual ifying activity. The qualifyi ng activity shall
determine if an ext ension may be granted.
Disposition of stock. Unless otherwise specified by the qualify ing activity and coordinated with the
preparing activity, qualified manufacturer s and their selling agent s or distributors may continue t o
ship stowage receptacles w hich were manuf actured in accordan ce wi th the previous revision of this
specification sheet for a period of 18 months from the date of the latest rev ision, provided t hat form, fit
and function are not affected.
Changes from previous issue. The margin s of this specification are marked with vertical lines to indicate
where changes from t he previous issue were made. This was done as a convenience only and t he
Government as sumes no liability whatsoever for any inaccu racies in these notations. B i dders and
contractors are cauti oned to evaluate the requirements of t hi s doc um ent based on the entire content
irrespective of the marginal notations and relationship to the last previous issue.
Class F is not for Navy use. Class F is inactive for use in Air Force new design.
Shell size code A (shell size 9) is inactive for new design. Use shell size codes
A1 or A2 for new design.
